"A new era in aesthetic enhancement" is definitely here. The Contour Threads™ Procedure for lifting brows, softening the midface and jowl areas and tightening the neck is having an immediate impact in the area of facial aesthetics.
Using new FDA approved barbed sutures called Contour Threads™, Dr. Holcomb can gently lift tissues without long incisions and anesthesia necessary for traditional brow and facelift procedures. The Contour Threads™ Procedure is safe and effective and only requires local anesthesia.
The Contour Threads™ Procedure is not a substitute for traditional brow and facelift procedures necessary to address more significant soft tissue laxity and/or loose folds of skin. The procedure is a good option for adult patients with low-positioned brows and mild lower midface fullness (nasolabial fold area), mild jowling or mild laxity of neck soft tissues.
Patients that undergo the Contour Threads™ Procedure can have traditional brow and/or facelift procedures in the future if desired. Some patients that have undergone brow and/or facelift procedures may be good candidates for additional improvement with the Contour Threads™ Procedure.
Unlike conventional smooth sutures, Contour Threads™ have tiny barbs or cogs that are evenly spaced apart. 2 Contour Threads™ are used on each side at each site (brows, midface, jowl area, neck) so each patient will need between 4 and 16 or more sutures depending on the desired treatment area(s).
Once deployed and fixated, the Contour Threads™ open in an umbrella-like fashion to enable the surgeon to contour and gently lift the tissues - this part of the procedure is done with the patient sitting up (watching with the mirror is optional!).
