Mini Face Lift
The "mini" facelift is designed to eliminate jowling (fullness at the jaw line near the chin) and to a lesser extent soften the mid-face and tighten the neck area. The "mini" facelift typically refers to a procedure called the modified S lift.
Some physicians market the procedure as a "quick" or "lifestyle" lift with claims regarding anesthesia, procedure and recovery time.
The "mini" facelift can be performed under local anesthesia - but so can a traditional facelift.
The "mini" facelift may take as little as 1 hour (for each side), but the procedure typically does not include neck contouring with platysmaplasty and may leave a visible scar behind the earlobe.
Candidates for the “mini” facelift generally have early features of aging (mild jowling and slight laxity of the skin) that may respond to other less invasive procedures such as the revolutionary AccuLift™ facial contouring technique and/or fractional CO2 laser skin resurfacing. The “mini” facelift is generally NOT APPROPRIATE for patients with heavy nasolabial folds, extensive jowl formation and significant laxity of the skin.
