Laser Assisted Facelift with AccuLift™
Dr. Holcomb’s Laser Assisted Facelift with AccuLift™ is a laser-assisted lower face and neck lift that incorporates the AccuLift™ procedure where necessary to soften the midface, sharpen the jawline and define the neck and that requires only local anesthesia.
Dr. Holcomb is on the leading edge regarding use of fat melting (lipolysis) lasers to improve and refine facelift results. Facial contouring (the AccuLift procedure) with the AccuSculpt lipolysis laser during facelift procedures improves results at the midface, jawline and neck.
Facial aging often affects tissue volume at multiple levels. At the skin level, decreased collagen thickness and loss of elasticity lead to formation of wrinkles and sagging. Beneath the skin, aging of the mid- and lower face generally involves redistribution of fat volume – with increasing hollowness of the mid-cheek and increasing fullness of the nasolabial fold and jowl as fat migrates downward in the face.
The procedure uses a state-of-the-art facial contouring laser (AccuSculpt™, Lutronic) to:
- Help with fat removal and skin tightening in the neck,
- Soften heavy nasolabial folds, (AccuLift aka Laser Assisted Facial Contouring)
- Reduce and eliminate jowls (AccuLift aka Laser Assisted Facial Contouring)
- Less traumatically perform other important parts of the facelift procedure.
Some facelift patients may also benefit from additional procedures that increase cheek volume (eg, lipografting, cheek implant or filler injections). add length to the chin (chin implant) or improve the clarity and texture of the skin (laser skin resurfacing). During the consultation process Dr Holcomb develops an individual treatment plan that is unique to each patient. In many cases the entire treatment plan may be completed during a single session.
Dr Holcomb has authored several scientific papers that discuss the benefits of Laser Assisted Facial Contouring (AccuLift) as a standalone procedure and as an integral part of facelift surgery.
